"Hi, Handsome. I had a ball last night."

"Me too, Pumpkin." I was a little surprised to hear from her after her disappearing act the night before.

"You're a real prince," she said. "Maybe I'll see you again some time." With that, she hung up.

I couldn't get her out of my mind. There was something phony about this dame. It was almost as if she'd been coached. And I had the nagging feeling I'd seen her somewhere before. But where?

Just before midnight, it struck me.

"I'll be seeing you, all right, Pumpkin," I thought. I might be a real prince, but I was on to her, and I wasn't going to be able to let her skate on this one.

Cinderella Skate

Every shoe tells a story — This piece was originally made for a show called Fables Retold, and was later chosen for The CW's The Carrie Diaries (prequel to Sex and the City), along with two other commissioned pieces. They wanted to show that Carrie Bradshaw had been obsessed with shoes her entire life, so we chose 3 childhood icons for the teenager's room: The Wizard of Oz's Dorothy, The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe, and Cinderella. Originally they were meant to decorate Carrie's bathroom, but when the art arrived on set it was promoted to her bedroom, where it was seen in nearly every episode.

"I'm proud to be represented in more downstairs powder rooms than any other living artist!"  — Claudia Lynch
