She'd spent weeks preparing a holiday surprise for me. As hard as it was, I'd managed to resist the urge to peek. Now, after finishing up the busy season with my usual all-nighter, I was ready for some hard-core R&R. I knew she was, too, and I couldn't wait to see what she'd cooked up for me this year.
