Blonde Shoe

“It was dumb. I got a little carried away with the chorine bleach.”

This particular blonde was no airhead, so I was patently sure that it had been intentional. She asked if I liked what she'd done with her drapes. "I've always been very fond of them," I said. If she really wanted my opinion-----and I had no reason to believe she did-----she’d be thinking about getting rid of that mismatched carpet instead.

Every shoe tells a story — A "chorine" is an old-fashioned word for a chorus girl (this is one of those Intentional Typos I wasn't going to help you find). I've always loved that word, and was shocked a number of years ago when it was removed in a revision of Merriam-Webster's Dictionary.

The show theme was "True Colors". My mind immediately went to "False Colors" and I created a Blonde Shoe, a Brunette Shoe and a Redhead Shoe.
